Description
The origin of Black Walnut (Juglans Nigra) is North America, where it grows in deciduous forests and occupies an extensive range from Massachusetts to Florida, and to the west to Minnesota and Texas. Black Walnut is a large North American tree, reaches 45 m in height and 1.5-1.8 m in diameter. Black Walnut bark is dark brown, and cracks early. The leaves are up to 40-50 cm long, sharp on top, dark green above, below they are with slight pubescence. The fruits are spherical, up to 6 cm in diameter. The nuts from spherical to obovate, about 4 cm in diameter, dark brown or black in color.
