Description
Wild Lettuce (Lactuca Virosa) is not a vegetable but actually a woodland member of the sunflower family. Lactuca virosa is biennial plant. It can grow to 80 inches or almost 7 feet. It is also stout, the stem and leaves are purple flushed, and the leaves are spreading. The achene is purple black, without bristles at the tip. Its flowering period is from July until September.
